It has happened to us all at least once. You’re excited to dig into a tasty and greasy meal and before you know it, your shirt is eating too. Oil stains are one of the trickiest stains to get out of any fabric, therefore these tips are intended to help remove oil from your clothes so you can dine without fear of ruining another good outfit.
How to remove oil from clothing:
- Gently blot the stain with a paper towel
- Cover the stain with baking soda and let it sit for up to an hour. Once it has set, scrub with a toothbrush.
- Pour some dish soap over the baking soda. Dish soap is a surfactant that helps to break down grease and oil.
- Wash as you normally would.
- Repeat if necessary.
